Maaike Ronhaar is a Dutch photographer based in Twente, the Netherlands. For nearly a decade, she has explored authenticity, belonging, and the human experience through photography. Moving between the seen and unseen, her images reflect energy, presence, and honest expression.
She started her career as a live music photographer. In the years that followed, she toured across Europe with bands, immersing herself in sound, movement, scenes and (sub) cultures. Through collaborations with artists, creatives, and modern mystics, she has developed a clear artistic vision. Over time, she deepened her connection with the raw elements of nature, an essential part of her journey and a guiding force in her life. All of these experiences shaped her distinctive style that is poetic, timeless, mystical, yet with a raw edge.
Maaike approaches photography as a spiritual act. Beyond the image itself, her practice is a dialogue between worlds, where authenticity acts as medicine.
